My Inspiration



It's so exciting that you found my page.  Whether by accident or by curiosity, I hope that sharing my background  will inspire you to start taking steps to upgrade your life and live your life to its fullest capacity.  


My life is shaped around my upbringing.  My mom and grandmas might have a hard time believing this because of the health nut I've turned into! They don't realize the effect they've had on my life and my health coaching career.  It's about the nostalgic feeling of how life use to be.  I close my eyes and it only takes a second to be standing at my old farm house watching my dad come in from chores.  My mom is standing behind the kitchen counter serving home-cooked food to a bunch of hungry farmers and us kids.  There were always fresh bars and cookies coming out of the oven for after meals and as an after school snack.  Growing up I never remember the adults in my life dieting or exercising at fitness centers.  When my family got together every Sunday at Grandma's house everyone was running around playing outside. We ate a meal contributed by all that was cooked with life and love.  After school or during summer vacations when my siblings and I were miss behaving or had too much energy, my mom would take us outside and turn the sprinkler on for us to run through. During the cold winter nights we danced in the living room with the stereo blasting, jumping on furniture, and giggling until we had to go to bed.

Where has this energy gone today?  Home cooked meals are being replaced with take-out and other processed box meals. Playing outside with friends and family is being replaced with computers and sedentary activities.  Because of this, weight has become a huge health issue. Adults are too busy and kids don't play.  Adults now have to rely on the next diet breakthrough and 24 hour fitness industry.  They worry more about how outsiders see them rather than how they feel inside.  It's an endless cycle.  Again, where has the energy gone?

I am inspired to help people  upgrade their lives, to find their inner self and create an amazing relationship with food.  Food that nourishes their lives and feeds their souls.

Don't get me wrong, I love to instruct indoor cycling classes, go for long runs with my mom, and take yoga with my sister.  But I now eat healthier than ever because food is my medicine and there is no alternative. I know that the food I put in my belly, whether an apple or a cookie, won't satisfy me unless my relationships, career, spirituality, and physical activity are up to par.  I cook with love and passion just as my mom and grandmas do.  Eat good to feel good to live good.

My Training


Institute for Integrative Nutrition

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program. 

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
As well as health coaching certification I am certified in Indoor Cycling and enjoy helping people learn to run!
